As a wedding photographer, I am always excited to photograph such a special and intimate occasion and when the wedding takes place at such stunning venues such as Culzean Castle and Glasgow University Cathedral, it makes it all the more memorable. Cameron and Alexandra had put so much effort into the planning of the wedding as many of guests had travelled over from America. They really wanted to put on a show for their guests who had travelled far to experience their first Scottish Wedding!
On the morning of the wedding, I arrived at Culzean Castle to capture Alexandra and Cameron's preparations as they got ready for the big day in the castle's Eisenhower Apartment. The castle with its beautiful grounds and breathtaking views of the coast provided the perfect backdrop for these special moments and were truly a photographers dream to capture.
As the ceremony at Glasgow University Cathedral approached, the wedding party made their way to the beautiful Gothic-style cathedral. The ceremony was conducted by Alexandra's brother Ben who also was the piper for the piper for the day. The ceremony was filled with emotion as the couple exchanged vows and became husband and wife. The natural light streaming through the stained glass windows provided a warm and ethereal ambiance for the ceremony.
After the ceremony, the wedding party made their way back to Culzean Castle to the Orangery for a drinks reception hour. The Orangery, with its beautiful glass walls and stunning views of the castle's gardens, provided a lovely setting for guests to mingle and enjoy drinks before the evening reception.
After the meal in the castle's stunning dining room the wedding party made their way to a marquee on the castle grounds for the evening reception and were surprised by a by a pipe band arranged by the Bride and Groom. The first dance took place in the marquee, with the beautiful castle providing a stunning backdrop for the newlyweds as they danced the night away.
